Actualmente ya hay librerías algo antiguas pero aun muy útiles que pueden ser de ayuda para este tipo de desarrollos como aporte les dejo el siguiente:

Si emplea java le sugiero jce (Java Cryptography Extension) aun mejor "bouncyCasttle" para que me entienda mejor le dejo el API para que le pegue una repasadita...

ya sabiendo la parte teórica hacer uso de los paquetes es pan comino, les dejo e API.
